Toll-free service (800, 888, 877, 866 or 855 numbers) enables the subscriber to receive direct-dialled long-distance calls originating in Canada and the United States without charge to the calling party.

If you want to add this service to your business, first you must subscribe to a Télébec long-distance savings plan.

Télébec savings plan terms apply to incoming calls. You enjoy the same competitive rates and rebates as on outgoing calls.

Features

Business subscribers to Toll-Free Service can chose the area codes from which eligible calls originate.

Toll-Free Service applies to direct-dialled long-distance calls made from Canada and the United States.

Call length is counted in six-second increments; partial increments are counted as one.

The minimum charge for a call is 30 seconds.

Toll-Free Service Options

Toll-Free Service options offer a host of advantages. They improve access to customer service departments. They also help a business provide personalized service, according to the region or the language spoken by calling customers.

Single Number

A common 800 number for two or more establishments.

Routing by Area Code

Allows call routing by origin to different offices or branches, through one nation-wide toll-free number.

Routing by Exchange

Allows call routing by originating exchange (the first three digits of a seven-digit phone number). This function is similar to routing by area code.

Call Distribution

Allows call routing at random to many different locations according to predetermined percentages. This allocation can be changed as required, e.g., where personnel are available.

Overflow Routing

Manages calls during busy periods by routing them to other sites, when lines are busy or no one is available to answer.

Voice Prompts

Offers callers a spoken directory to ensure they reach appropriate personnel (e.g. “press 1 for customer service, press 2 for human resources”, etc.)

FlexRoute

Allows you to extend your business hours by routing calls to other offices according to time, day or holidays.

Emergency Routing

In case of emergency, provides free call routing to one of your other locations, within five minutes of notifying Télébec. No charges apply to activation or deactivation of this function.

Welcome Message

Allows you to greet your callers with a professional pre-recorded message when your offices are closed, your lines are busy or no one is available to answer.

Called Number Identification

Lets your agents know which toll-free number a caller has dialled, to allow for a more personalized greeting.

Caller ID

Displays the caller’s phone number on your agent’s screen.
